Dark Star 10: This is the darkest clay body made at Starworks Ceramics and is made with wonderful clays and materials found in North Carolina. The Dark Star 10 clay body is processed through a 16 mesh screen to preserve more of the rocks and sand found in the wild natural clay. The clay body is a joy to work with and fires out to a rich dark brown/red in a reduction atmosphere. It is fairly refractory and can withstand a hot and long firing. Cone 10-11, Average Shrinkage at cone 10 OX = 12.25%, Average Water Absorption at cone 10 OX = 2.05%
